All the other birds arrived, coming ashore one after another. The only lingering feeling in the duck person's gaze was melancholy. Though the flock was lively, the duck person did not see itself as part of the throng but a relic of the past.
Chronicles from the pond - The Arrival
The arrival normally happens during the harvest season, from Mid-August to late September. It also occurs in batches and waves, along with their eggs.
This is how they always arrive here by the way, carrying their eggs. Although duck people hatch from eggs, they are also mammals.
Once here, they begin their lives, experiencing cycles of excitement, happiness, and sometimes feelings of sadness, confusion, and frustration. Despite these ups and downs, such emotions propel them forward.
Then, they start hearing a faint voice in their heads, which is easy to ignore amidst the many distractions.
Then there's less things, and the voice becomes a little hard to ignore.
